Chalfont St Peter Office
It is first recorded in the 7th century and is mentioned in the Doomsday book. It was for many centuries a sleepy village some 15 miles from London, but when the railway station at nearby Gerrards Cross opened in the late 19th century Chalfont St Peter saw a large population expansion, and is now one of the largest villages in the South East.
The village is large enough to support three banks, several pubs, numerous restaurants and lots of independent shops.
Chalfont St Peter currently has two primary schools which are rated Outstanding by Ofsted and its secondary school, The Chalfonts Community College, was oversubscribed in 2015.
Chalfont St Peter is well blessed with sports clubs, golf clubs and a huge choice of country walks through the surrounding Green Belt.
Its proximity to London, Heathrow and the motorway and rail network mean that this popular village will remain sought after for a very long time to come.
